Teach, reflect and sing on Vinea
Publishing on Vinea is open to verified accounts. That keeps what is taught here accountable to a real person, confirmed by the body that can vouch for them.
Who can apply
Priests, deacons, bishops, consecrated religious, theologians, catechists, writers, Catholic musicians and choirs, parishes and Catholic organisations.
How verification works
- Create an account and a community profile. The community is for adults aged 18 and over.
- Open Me from the picture at the top of Today, and apply for verification.
- Name your parish, diocese, institute or place of work, and a phone number on which we can reach you.
- A named reviewer contacts the body that can confirm your standing and records the result.
- When it is confirmed, the badge appears on your profile. Badges expire and must be renewed.
A badge says that your standing was confirmed on a given date. It is not an endorsement by Vinea or by the Church of anything you say. Falsely presenting yourself as clergy or religious leads to permanent removal.
What you can publish
- Teachings: longer articles, arranged by topic, which you can draft and schedule.
- Reflections: a short reflection on the day's readings, which you can write ahead.
- Posts: text and photos for your followers or for a group.
- Music: recordings for verified musicians and choirs.
Insights shows you views, plays and shares of your own work. Each reader is counted once a day and no reader is ever identified to you.
Music and rights
Every song is uploaded under one of three declarations: it is in the public domain, it is your own composition, or you have the permission of its composer or publisher. Each upload is reviewed before it is published. A performance can be yours while the song is not, so a hymn's text and tune need clearing too. See Copyright.
What we ask
Teach what the Church teaches, and follow the Community Guidelines. Reports that concern doctrine are referred to someone qualified to answer them rather than decided by our moderators.
